Aaron and Kara (Funke) Pingel, died Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Children's Hospital in Omaha. Karis was born June 6, 2008, in Falls City, Nebraska, and on that same day received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God and an heiress of His heavenly kingdom. God blessed Karis' life with many special people, and in turn, blessed many special people with her life as she touched the hearts of all who met her. She truly was a tremendous "Dorothea" ("gift of God") and a marvelous example of His "Karis" ("grace"). Rev. Pingel currently serves as pastor of Christ Lutheran Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Falls City. Karis is survived by her parents, Rev. Aaron and Kara Pingel, Falls City; three brothers, Andrew, Michael, and Nathanael, all of Falls City; grandparents, Rev. Richard and Dianne Pingel, Pender, Nebraska, and Rev. Kenneth and Linda Funke, Jefferson City, Missouri; great-grandparents, Loris Pueppke, Mitchell, South Dakota; Rev. Walter Resner, Wichita, Kansas; William and Lola Funke, Fort Collins, Colorado; many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins. She was preceded in death by an older brother, Athanasius; great-grandparents, Clarence and Hildegarde Pingel, Lloyd Pueppke, and Muriel Resner. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2009, at Christ Lutheran Church, Falls City. Interment will be in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, six miles north of Falls City. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to Rev.
