[District Updates]

J. David McMahan, husband of Cassie McMahan, teacher at Faith, Lincoln, departed this life on March 9, 2009, in Lincoln, Nebraska. David was born on November 21, 1949, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

David McMahan was a member at Faith Lutheran Church and served as youth leader, Sunday school teacher, elder, choir member and on the evangelism team. For several years David helped as a kindergarten aid in the school.

Mr. McMahan is survived by his wife Cassie McMahan of Lincoln; daughter, Sarah McMahan of Lincoln, NE; sons, Benjamin McMahan and his wife Melissa Merrick of Tucson, AZ; and Daniel and Tiffany McMahan of Lincoln, NE.

A memorial service will be held March 16, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with a reception immediately following the service at Lincoln Lutheran Jr./Sr. High School.
